Saturday 17th May 2025 will see the 58th running of the Plains Rally organised by Knutsford and District Motor Club, offering stages in Alwen, Aberhirnant and Dyfnant.

The organisers of the Plains Rally recently received some great news from NRW, we can now apply for permission to visit our stages, so that we can conduct roadbook and stage setup surveys. This is a very positive step, which will allow us to progress our event planning, and we are grateful to everyone who has worked hard behind the scenes, to make this happen.

While this is a very positive step, and we are hopeful of delivering the Plains Rally on Saturday 17th May, we are not completely certain that we will be able to run. Our ability to run depends entirely on NRW reinstating permission for events to run on the land they manage. Negotiations in that regard are ongoing. We continue to monitor developments and are very pleased to say that so far, things are moving forward in a positive way, so we are very hopeful that the event will run, as scheduled.

For the event to run, we need all of the elements of a successful event to be in place. One of the most important elements is having our marshalling team in place, to ensure the stages run smoothly and safely. While a degree of uncertainty remains, we have decided to start our marshal recruitment process now. We have our stage commanders in place, and now we would like to invite you to register for your preferred stage. We are looking for timing teams, radio operators, and marshals to help in stage, and in service. If [when] we get the green light to run, then we will be the first forest stage event to run in Wales in 2025.

The event is a round of the Fuchs Lubricants British Historic Rally Championship, Motorsport UK Pirelli Welsh Stage Rally Championship, ANWCC Forest Rally Championship, SD34 Stage Rally Championship, TCS Plant Rally Challenge in support of Welsh Air Ambulance and Celtic Micra Challenge. We are looking forward to attracting a bumper entry and running and excellent event and we very much hope that you will join us to help make the Plains Rally a fantastic day's motorsport.
